Escape to Kiahuna Plantation for a Natural Kauai Retreat

Reviewed by Ashley of ReserveDirect.com Kauai is one of the most majestic of the Hawaiian Islands.  A vacation here is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the everyday and no place brings that idea to fruition better than the Kiahuna Plantation.  Situated in a serene, natural setting the resort provides 35 tropical acres perfect for a Kauai vacation in paradise.  Even better, the Plantation is oceanfront to Poipu Beach, undeniably one of the best Kauai beaches. The accommodations at Kiahuna Plantation Kauai are bungalow and suite style.  It is also important to note the resort does not feature air conditioning.  A large lanai with sliding screen door, fans and shuttered windows made the room rather comfortable at night, but make note all the same.  The suites and bungalows offer ocean views or partial ocean views. I stayed in a partial ocean view during my stay, and rather liked not only the view but the lush landscaping surrounding the unit.  The vibrant landscaping throughout the resort highlighted the natural beauty of Kauai and created a private, secluded hideaway where the island felt all your own.

Each unit at the Castle Kiahuna Plantation features a different décor, but all of them come equipped with a full kitchen, and the case goods were all in quality condition.  It felt spacious as well, which was nice as no one likes to be stuck in one little room during a weeklong vacation.  Free internet access was available as well, just in case you feel the need to connect during your visit.  Overall, I found the rooms to be a nice retreat from the ordinary.

Adding to the allure of the Plantation are its amenities. As mentioned previously, the gorgeous setting on Poipu Beach creates a beach escape right at your doorstep. Framed by palm trees, the Poipu Beach access is certainly one of the best reasons to stay here. The resort offers snorkel gear and boogie board rentals, too, for even more fun while beach chairs and towels are available for free. Plus, there is a custom designed pool with a slide, barbecues, tennis courts, two restaurants, and beach activity center. The pool was pristine, and the slide, waterfall and lush setting fit in wonderfully with the rest of the resort.

Make your escape to Kiahuna Plantation to experience a true Kauai vacation.
