The Howard Johnson Maingate East Orlando provides affordable comfort to their guests. The hotel is conveniently located just two miles from Disney World Theme Parks, and its location on Hwy. 192 (Irlo Bronson Hwy) gives guests a multitude of entertainment and dining options. The amenities at the Howard Johnson hotel include a large game room, a gift shop with souvenirs as well as food items, guest laundry and an on-site IHOP where kids eat free (one child per paying adult). The pool area is large and features a large heated pool, whirlpool and kiddie pool.When I visited the Orlando Howard Johnson I stayed in a standard double room that featured two double beds, a floral motif, newer carpet and case goods and a layout that was efficiently spacious. The bathroom was somewhat small, but the curved shower rod created extra space as did the vanity being located outside of the shower area. The room was very clean as well and was equipped with wireless internet.
There is a $1.50 a day fee for the use of the in-room safe. A complimentary shuttle to Disney's Magic Kingdom is also available to guests.
